Alexandra is a Senior Associate Solicitor at Collingwood Legal, having joined the firm in 2015. Alexandra is originally from France and has established a life and career in the UK. She qualified as a solicitor in 2007 and has specialised in employment law since. Alexandra is a very experienced solicitor, recognised as a “recommended lawyer” in the Legal 500 and identified as a Recognised Practitioner in Chambers & Partners.

Experience

Examples of Alexandra’s experience include:

  • Advising on the terms and effects of settlement agreements and developing policies and procedures for employers without a HR department.
  • Representing clients and tackling complex contentious issues, including Tribunal claims involving complaints of bullying and harassment, discrimination and whistleblowing, as well as unfair dismissal.
  • Providing excellent advice to both employees and employers from the private and public sector.
  • Advising clients in respect of capability, disciplinary and grievance issues, including investigating complex grievances as an independent investigator (in particular serious complaints of race discrimination).
  • Providing comprehensive legal advice to employers on absence management, reorganisation and redundancies and the selection matrices and consultation process involved.

Noteworthy cases

  • Successfully advised a group of individuals in a joint race discrimination claim against a large public body.
  • Successfully represented an employer client at a Central Arbitration Committee hearing, after a union alleged that they had historically been recognised.
  • Conducted a complex investigation into serious allegations of sexual harassment made by a number of female employees against a male colleague.

Outside of work

Alexandra enjoys any good craft activities, in particular making toys in felt or crochet for little people, long walks in the countryside, baking, travelling (when this was/will be allowed again) and a good movie!
