Collingwood Legal are delighted to welcome Jeremy Thomas to join us for a Masterclass event on Mental Health and the Workplace to discuss this key issue for all employers.

There is no doubt that the COVID-19 pandemic has presented challenges to us all, but one which has been felt particularly is managing mental health.

More than ever, employees and their wellbeing are critical to the success of your organisation. Mental health issues can lead to negative effects including higher rates of absence and lack of productivity. However, employers who take a positive and proactive approach can improve both employee wellbeing and business performance.

Jeremy Thomas is a renowned author and speaker on mental health issues. He co-produced the Emmy Award winning documentary Stephen Fry, the Secret Life of a Manic Depressive and is the co-author of You Don’t Have to Be Famous to Have Manic Depression – An A-Z Guide to Good Mental Health.  Jeremy will share his personal experience and offer key tips and techniques for better mental health.

This event is designed for HR professionals, managers and will be of benefit to all employees to give them confidence in their role and an understanding of what they can do to promote good mental health and offer support to colleagues.

Paul McGowan and Paul Johnstone both Partners from Collingwood Legal, a “Top Tier” Legal 500 employment law firm, will discuss the legal duties and obligations for employers and answer key questions designed to help employers protect their business and improve employee attendance and wellbeing.

Feedback from events with Jeremy Thomas.

Jeremy Thomas is an outstandingly good speaker. Jeremy’s talks are practical, authentic, and entertaining. He manages to get into the nitty gritty of mental health and to demonstrate many ways in which we can all practice how to stay well – prevention is better than cure. He is sincere without ever being pious and fun without ever being flippant.
